You have to go to Disk Management and Initialize it.

Scan for hardware changes trough the device manager, and then disk manager. It should show up as unallocated space. You will then need to make some partition/s, assign letters and format.

HARDWARE INTERRUPT MOTHAF#%A!
WINDOWS 10 = adware, driven by spyware

If it is showing up in the bios Windows will detect it.

Others have mentioned parts of the solutions but here goes:

1. Confirm that the sata port hasn't been disabled in the bios, try a different SATA data cable if you can't see it here. May also need to use a different SATA power cable.

2. Open devmgmt.msc scan for changes. Check if it shows under disk drives. If it does make sure it hasn't been disabled, if it has, enable it. If it isn't showing, double check the manufactures website (they are rare, but it could required a driver to detect). You should make sure every device does not show the Yellow triangle of "unknown device driver" in device manager (if you are connecting via the 3rd party chip set and you don't have the driver installed windows wont be able to detect the ssd).

3. open diskpart.msc and see if it shows here. As it is a new device, windows should detect this and prompt you to initialize as MBR or GPT. Once that has finished you will need to partition the drive and assign a drive letter before you can see it in explorer.
