Hello, I have some questions about getting a E-GPU for my laptop. yuck   I do not know much about computers so I do not want to waste $70 on something that does not work.

I have a Dell Inspiron 3537 http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/product-support/product/inspiron-15-3537/diagnose?ref=3275_previously&rvps=y

I am planning to buy this for Christmas http://amzn.com/B00Q4VMLF6

Will this GPU adapter be compatible for my laptop? I've heard you have to remove the wifi adapter in order to connect this but thats not a problem. Is there a better solution instead of a E-GPU?

it will not work nearly well enough to be really useable

the bandwidth is not nearly enough to run a gpu

basically, no

this will not help

Uh, yes it will. It's a mPCIe connector, the bandwidth should be fine :P

Just save your money for either a proper gaming laptop, or that thing from MSI that really doesn't make much sense given it's price point. How much were you looking to spend?

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

My bad, it's mSATA, not mPCIe, and therefore it will be bottlenecked hard...

The mPCI-E connector is currently allocated to the Wireless card.

So you have to remove it in order to fit the eGPU connector.

Cabling would be difficult to run/sort since it is underneath the laptop.
