How heavily modded are we talking here?  You could easily spend $500 on RAM for a Minecraft server.

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

Apologies, I never include hard drives because I kinda assume most people have one in an old PC of some sort.

Why on heaven's earth would you need to spend $500 on RAM?!

We're not talking about running the game itself, and the computer doesn't need to know any of the textures. 32 GB of ram is more than enough for a 50+ person server. I have seen 192 GB of ram go for around $200, but I don't remember the price exactly. You have to get a little lucky, but it happens.

COMPUTER: Mobile Battlestation  |  CPU: INTEL I7-8700k |  Motherboard: Asus z370-i Strix Gaming  | GPU: EVGA GTX 1080 FTW ACX 3.0 | Cooler: Scythe Big Shuriken 2 Rev. b |  PSU: Corsair SF600 | HDD: Samsung 860 evo 1tb

I know, it was bought up for some odd reason, and I found it a rather... odd claim.

Ok @fearxzombie then I'd recommend my build or something similar. An SSD could be an upgrade option in the future as could more RAM to help run your modded mine craft (I have no experience in that department[emoji16]). Other then that, if you don't plan on upgrading much then you could swap out the mobo for a cheaper h81 chipset and spend more on RAM or an i5.

Well, how do I know what he's doing? (OK I know now but at the time)  If he wanted to run a server for X many people, and also play on that server... you'd be amazed how much difference being "heavily modded" will have on RAM usage... plus, it's more expensive here :)

@Jykos that's basically the build I put out?? What was the lol?

The lol was that choosemypc.net is an auto generator and it came up with an almost identical build.

I found this funny.

well that's us out of business

which is why this comment makes sense/ is also funny.
