Fallout 3 on windows 7

mads243

I know there is are issues running fallout 3 on windows 7 because of the CPU having more than 2 cores, i have tried 1 fix so far, and i was able to play the game, but my main problem is that the game freezes when i enter a small room, and sometimes the game will freeze randomly. What can i do to play the game smoothly?

The fixes i have done so far is to edit your Fallout.ini and find a line 'bUseThreadedAI=0' and change it to 'bUseThreadedAI=1' and then add a line 'iNumHWThreads=2'.

The second fix was to add d3d9.dll, but that changed my settings, and i tried playing with those setting but it also froze.

The third fix was making the game run in compatibility mode, not sure which one i should choose, i know i can run the game in either windows xp or vista.

Is there anything i did wrong, anybody have another tip?
