Intel 750 400GB NVME TEST

Here are two results of the Intel 750 400GB NVMe drive that I received today.

 

The only problem I have is the low 4K Q32T1 value that I do not understand. I have seen the same SSD tested with the same version of Crystal Disk and the results where : 880 / 859 MB/s for example.

 

Following config, the rest are not important I think : 

 

Motherboard : Asus Maximus VII Formula

CPU : Intel 4790K

 

The SSD is pun in a 16x 3.0 PCIE SLOT

 

I have also made a copy test of a 100GB dummy file created with the command : fsutil file createnew dummy.iso 100000000000 

 

The copy speed is consistent unlike the 950 PRO and 951 :

And I thought my 850 EVO SATA SSD was fast...

the i7-4790k doesn't support NVMe right? so you won't get the full performance, only with skylake or haswell-e

NVMe just uses PCI-E lanes on the CPU, there is no restriction on what CPU supports it. The only limiting factor is the amount of PCI-E lanes the CPU has and how many you need to use.

The Z97 Chipset suports  NVMe and also the Asus Maximus VII Formula

In the comparison there are two Intel 730 240GB in RAID 0 on the left vs Intel 750 400GB on the right.
