Tech Gifts for Non-techies Giveaway!

Lets do this!! :D

I would like to get a smartphone for my totally Non-Techie Mother. She has a flip-phone and she uses it to take pics. That's like 1 mega pixel so I would like to give her a Asus Zenphone selfie. I chose this because it has a front and rear 13 mega pixel camera. YAY!!

My dad really likes to play games and knows nothing about computers, so I want to give him a GTX 950 FTW (and install it) for Christmas.  It would be a step up from his Radeon 5850.

Hey team,

My gift would be to my wife, it would be an Asus Tablet.

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FFF7DAK/ref=psdc_1232597011_t1_B0067PLM5E

Unfortunetly I packed the last one in the suitcase to go under the plane (it was well packed and in a protective cover) but some how the airline still managed to smash it in half... the cost of repair is over half the cost of a new one... so... I would like to get her this to replace that, she likes to use it for documents instead of printing them out, screen shots of directions and other things as well as watching shows, movies and netflix...

Thanks a lot for the chance to win ! WOOT

Dale.

So my family has never been super tech-savvy (save for me of course) and they still aren't. I have become the house IT expert as I am sure many of us have at some point, and am now soul-bound to fix anything with an integrated circuit. Though its totally #worth because of all the cool stuff I get to do now as a techie.

I first got into tech when I was nine years old. My mom got me a used laptop and i had it for approximately 3 days before she took it away ant sent it to my cousin who was going to college :( ... I had a taste of having my own personal tech and I was hooked. About two years later, my dad brought home this horrible old maroon dell laptop (I thought it was a miracle at the time) and said that his friend at work was selling it for $75 and that he thought I might be interested. I immediately screamed, "YASSSS!!!" and when to make sure my checkbook was balanced correctly and that I had that much money.

It ran Windows XP and it took about three minutes to boot up, then another minute or so to be able to start any programs, also one of the hinges was broken, and I freakin' loved it! It's how I first got into Minecraft and PC gaming in general. Fast forward a few years and we've moved to Kansas, the state with it's capital going into the next state, and also lots 'o corn! We had to get a new internet service provider and the best option was a company called Vyve. They came and set up the internet at our house and it is in a super inconvenient spot that we can not change. It outputs horrible wi-fi and you can only have five devices on a time. My mom's tablet and phone and my dad's tablet and phone take up four and our PS3 (for Netflix & Hulu only, I am not a console peasant) takes the final spot. SO I GET NO WIFI! I had to get a through the wall Ethernet extender and it sucks. My family's home life would be much improved with an easy to manage (so I don't have to) router.

So I want to gift my parents the Google OnHub Router. The only problem is that is waaay out of my price range and so it would be amazing if I won this giveaway so me and my siblings can actually use wi-fi, and the people who already have won't be able to build an entire house before a web-page loads... Thanks LMG for giving this a read and keep up the amazing work. I love your videos and watch them all the time. They have helped my become omnipitent about technology and build my gaming PC. Thank you again and have a merry Canadian Christmas! (Or Hon-aka or Quanza or whatever)

I would love to get an Acer Aspire laptop for my mom. She has been struggling with her basic dell laptop recently. She says its to slow and is always struggling with it. She does all of her work on it (she works from home), and I would love to help her be more comfortable with her new job. If I were to win, I would make my moms holiday season, and I couldn't ask for more.

Who's it for? Mom

What's it for? My mom is complaining about ehr old broken down dell, so I thought I'd help her get set in her new job.

I would get my uncle a Sphero BB-8 App-Enabled Droid. I would buy this for him because he is a huge movie buff and is super excited about the new Star Wars movie. I'd love to see the movie with him and give him a great holiday gift.

For this holiday season, I would buy a Samsung galaxy tab a for my mom and brother to use. Both of them are not at all tech savvy at all(my mom couldnt find the power button when she got an iphone 6) and I think that a tablet would really help them in this modern era without having to mess around with pc's and a bunch of junk you have to deal with which is a piece of cake for me, but of course non-tech savvy people here. I was always looking to get a new tablet but never had the money to afford one. This I think would be my best and only hope on getting my family not to hate the tech world.

My Dad still has this old 250GB external hard drive which is full. This 6TB WD Personal NAS would be nice just to keep all his files and backups on. ALso won't have to worry about plugging in a usb cable each time he wants to use it.

WD 6TB My Cloud Personal Network Attached Storage - NAS - WDBCTL0060HWT-NESN - $249.99 currently for the 6TB model.

This is a great idea for a giveaway, thank you so much! I would love to give my sister a computer, since she doesn't have one. I'm thinking of the HP Stream laptop that's $200.

I would get my grandmother the Bose Sound Touch 20 Series II ( http://www.amazon.com/Bose-SoundTouch-Wireless-Music-System/dp/B00NGK89UY/ref=sr_1_4?s=aht&ie=UTF8&qid=1449802725&sr=1-4&refinements=p_36%3A-30000 ). This is because she is always listening to music on these dainty little Dell wired speakers, and I feel it's time for an upgrade. Especially at this time when she has her own Christmas Wonderland in her house. Last year my family joined in to get her a Dell 2 in 1, and now it's time to get rid of those crummy speakers.

My dad uses a old flip phone from boost and still pays quite a bit for the limited service. I would rather him be paying service for something that he could actually do a little bit more on than call or text so I though that an android based smartphone would benefit him.

A Huawei P8

This is for you parents, they need it. Currently they are using a 32 inch 480i vizio tv that they have had for a long time. They watch it in a dining room they turned into a "movie room". They would love this projector.

This is my Amazon link: http://www.amazon.com/BenQ-MS524-Lumens-Ready-Projector/dp/B00MBE21FU/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1449802933&sr=1-2&keywords=Projector&refinements=p_36%3A27900-30000.When viewing it was under $300, I hope it doesn't move up.

Hi, very cool giveaway idea!

So I would love to gift my dad a Fitbit Surge:

http://www.amazon.com/Fitbit-Surge-Fitness-Superwatch-Black/dp/B00N2BWF6Q/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1449801866&sr=8-6&keywords=fitbit

and here's why:

In general we are a very savvy family when it comes to health and fitness, especially my dad, he is hooked to the health channel and exercises daily :)

this seems like a gift he would like and will use a lot, and it also seems easy enough for him to use which is very important. (at over 70 years old he cant operate much tech haha)

in general the whole health monitoring is amazing. we are not quite there yet i think, but the idea of a "HWmonitor" for your body is exciting to me.

thanks LTT!

My dad hates technology, but loves guitars. He loves to fiddle with his guitar pedals but he wont go near a computer to save his life. I saw him oogling over this company when he took me to a guitar convention and played with this pedal for quite a while:

Always thought it was cool, never saw anything else like that.
