BF4 dissappointing on PS4?

http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/08/23/gamescom-battlefield-4s-graphics-lacking-on-ps4

I am NOT surprised obviously. I mean when you are running it with cards such as titans of course it will look better. It was almost like false advertising for console gamers, but they should know better at this point.

i wish people would stop using the titan as a reference for"thats the only way a game will look good "

the titan is 1000$ because of its computational powers

there is a review of it on anandtech

use a 780GTX as the reference at least

and please remember that the jaguar cores were first meant to be used for low powered devices !

they are SLOW and cant stress this much

Did anyone really expect the consoles to run BF4 at 60fps with all the settings turned up to max?

I know that they are saying the game is coming out in a few months but games like ARMA 3 Alpha came out I think at the beginning of this year yet the game looked fine. If the game at the moment is running with unfinished textures, 16 player LAN and a lower resolution than 1080X1920 then I think they have quite a bit of work to do to get it released on time. I know that EA and Dice want to close the game between PC and console but when PC is shifting towards higher then 180-1920 displays and still maintaining 60 FPS on max settings on video games with player counts of 2000 (Planetside 2) I think console has a very very long way to go. I would like to see a version of Crysis 3 running on PS4 and XBox One and see if they can run it at max settings.

Wow, nothing new anyway, i mean, come on why do they even make good titles for the consoles, the ruin the look of the game and the next gen consoles are already weaker than last gen PC-s, they are just digging a grave for console gaming.

But the Consoles have to hold for the next 6-10 Years and to that time the Titan will be Low end.

We will probably have DX12 and 4k maybe even Realtime Ray Tracing.

They can barly hold up againts 2 Year Old PC's how do they want to keep up in 6 Years when even Volta will be 2 Years Old.

The Gpu's by then should be beyond 10Tflop's.

Consoles are just not fit for a game like battlefield. Most gamers can't hit those long range shots with their controllers (of which there are a lot), the graphics are lacking and the whole game just doesn't reach that same intensity it often does on PC.

I think consoles are more fit for more casual games, where you can just hop in and have fun, such as cod, racing games, sports games... But hardcore gaming? Get yourself a PC.

This is of course my opinion, and I'd like to know what you guys think.

First person shooters don't suit console controls at all to begin with. They are clunky as hell and very unresponsive, they always will be simply because there is no large surface area for the point of information taken is not large enough. In other boards a mouse is far superior to a controller simply because large amounts of information are taken from a small movement because of the large surface area the mouse moves across compared to a controller which moves around a single point. Racing games and side scrollers are the only things that controllers can do competitively.

I agree with you but the thing is that in consoles you dont have different graphic settings, it is just what it is, so in a way you could say that consoles always run on ultra if you want because consoles are optimised for that

While I stick to PC gaming exclusively, can we all stop circlejerking over the next-gen consoles being weaker than a $800 PC?

That's probably fair, when you pay as much for the GPU as a whole console they will not be in the same league.

On the other hand, I really want to know if it's possible to build a $400 complete PC with the same performance as a PS4. (remember that 400 has to include power supply, case, blu-ray, HDMI cable and input peripherals).

Why are they even trying to make them play PC games. I mean, come on! Every one can see that this cannot run those games. Thats why i like the Wii U; it does not try to play PC games.

NO! No we can't. I'm sick of consoles getting all the exclusives just because they're consoles. They are underpowered, useless, and obsolete, and have no right nor justification getting all games before the PC, and many good exclusives. It's rediculous. You can get a gaming PC and use steam in big picture mode. Consoles are obsolete in this day and age, and serve only to manufacturers to milk more money from the uninformed consumers. I just ove it when people try to convince me that consoles are better, and justify their choice with whatever...

The reason why consoles get is exclusives is because money speaks , so sony and Microsoft splash out the cash to get games to be on their platforms alone . However in PC as there is no single big name who make the platform and parts comes from all types of companies you can't pay the devs to make a PC game a exclusive ! Hope that made sense but yeh

Thought*  To each their own I guess , but I own BF3 on both PC and PS3 and I find the game enjoyable on both systems. I go on PS3 ( where I have BF Premium ) to do well on . While I play on PC to get the ultra quality graphics and to improve my FPS skills on a pc.
