I own Bit Trip Runner 2. The game runs at 60hz with vsync on (even though my monitor runs at 75hz) and with vsync off, it is always tearing like crazy.

I tried the game on my brother's 144hz monitor and with vsync off, it still looks at peasanty as before. DEFINITELY did not look like proper 144hz. Also Freesync was enabled, but it was tearing all over the place.

Framerate count was taken from steam's FPS counter. Why does the game not like anything over 60hz? It makes the game difficult to play.

Any ideas?

And with it off, the game still does not look any smoother on a 144hz panel :(

AMD forced Vsync in CCC/Radeon Settings doesn't work in many games. Try play in Borderless mode.

Keep in mind that not all games will recognize a refresh rate of 75Hz, when I overclocked my monitor to 75Hz just a few games were able to Vsync at 75.

The stars died for you to be here today.

According to the PCGamingWiki page for Bit Trip Runner 2;

Frame rate is uncapped after disabling vsync, gameplay is capped at 60 FPS. Users with high refresh rate monitors are reporting this with constant steady movement is causing motion blurring making game near unplayable.

So it appears the gameplay is capped at 60fps no matter what.

Silly game devs. Bit trip beat had options to run at any frame rate and resolution the monitor listed.
