Is there any reason to get speakers for your PC even though you already have headphones?

Probably no one else will say this so I will.  On any given Friday / Saturday night, I may be going out with my friends etc.  If I wear headphones, there will be a thick flat bar going through my hair, and a weird indentation around my ears, which isn't a good look at a bar.  Using speakers instead of having to put on a headset is nice.

Plus sometimes, I want to be doing stuff around my apartment, and not just sitting in front of my computer.  Sure wireless headsets exist, but just listening to speakers while I do something is just.... easier.

Speakers were not my main priority though, so I just got a monitor with them built in.

it's nice to use speakers when you have to do things other than sitting at your desk, like having music on when doing housework and generally if you don't want to use headphones

Absolutely. Better soundstage and comfort, at the expense of isolation and privacy.

You're an idiot.

Get ready for points.

You're an idiot.

Well aren't you the boring one.

But the principle of being annoying to my neighbours is still the main reason why I have my speakers and that you cant beat that nice feeling of stupidly loud music.

The Dick of the audio page!

Speakers are still nice to have around, mine is 1/20th the cost of my headphone+amp/dac and I'm pretty sure I use them 20 times more just playing music in the background when I browse stuff.

I'd use speakers whenever friends are over and you want to play games at your computer together.

I know that feel. Just make your hair, it's not that hard. Put some water in, dry it off again, smooth as silk. 8-)

who cares...

Better yet, just don't have friends or leave the house. Works for me.

I use speakers over headphones,i prefer to feel it in my entire body, not just my ears.

Makes music, and games, more immersive. Nothing can beat having a subwoofer for explosions in games. You feel it in your entire body.

I prefer speakers which is why I've invested more money into them than headphones.
