Hey.

I haven't caught up with the "latest trends". I knew about skylake releasing and all. I was just wondering is there a significant difference over devil's canyon performance wise? What's the pros of skylake? Cons? Is it something that would be used in the sweet spot of pc gaming/editing (900-1200 area)? Would it benefit more in gaming or more in workstation builds? What is basically the 4690k (a processor that is just right) of Skylake?

Just wondering since I don't see much using Skylake processors unless they have crazy budgets. Inform me on some stuff!

I gained 10-25 fps in most games going from a 3770k to a 6700k at 1440p so if u want an upgrade its worth it IMO. Here is a video I recommend to anyone looking at Skylake. Go watch and see what U think.

Skylake pros are IPC, DMI-3 (4 more PCI-e lanes), DDR4, better heat and overclocking due to VRM stuff being back off chip. Also if u want stuff like usb type c there are more skylake mobos with these features.

If you make a post contradicting mine that doesn't directly address my claims, or cites 'facts' without evidence, I'm probably not going to bother responding to it, because you probably didn't bother reading my post properly, and because life is too short. It doesn't mean I don't have an answer for you. It means I'm not dignifying you with a response.

I upgraded from Ivy Bridge. Raw benchmarks show better performance, but games did work on both (Witcher 3 / HoTS). Main benefit of upgrade is more than one SATA III port :) and I want to have double-OS on double SSDs in this case. If you have high end DDR3 then DDR4 changes rather nothing, and the performance gains from Haswell/Broadwell aren't rather worth it.
