Gtx 970 or R9 390 with fx 6350

jakejake2115

I currently have a non oc fx 6350 with 8gb ram and a 2gb gtx 960, I wanted to upgrade my computer this christmas and Im not sure about a couple things.

Should I upgrade to a GTX 970 or a R9 390?

And if i do upgrade to one of the higher tier cards will my cpu bottleneck them and i should upgrade to a skylake i5? or will my cpu be sufficient?

Thanks for any help, and I am kind of balling on a budget this winter

Yes in some games it will bottleneck I recommend upgrading to an i5 instead of a GPU.

If you upgrade to i5 and wont upgrade your GPU you wont notice prety much any difference in performance.

If you upgrade to better GPU you will get better performance in some games except those that will be CPU intensive where you will encounter bottleneck and wont notice difference.

I say upgrade GPU now and CPU later.

Also would a 4690k with a Z97 board and 8gb of ram be a good deal for $300? and would that be sufficient for a few years
