Moved Parts While PSU Was Still On

Go to solution Solved by Godlygamer23,

The PC has been running fine, I wanted to see if I could run the 210 with my 960 plugged in without SLI so i could have a second VGA port to use a second monitor, but it didn't work as planned so I removed the card but forgot to unplug the pc.

If the system is off, it's fine. If it was on, we'd be having a much different conversation. PCIe slots are not hot-swappable.

So I pulled a little bit of a stupid and removed one of my GPUs without turning off my PSU, Should I be worried?

The GPU was a GeForce 210 so it didn't need any power directly from the PSU

Well the only way to find out is to put it back in and see if it works I suppose... :P

If the computer was turned off, likely it will be fine.

Was the machine unplugged though? Then it would be fine I would think.

Either way, if everything still works, then I think you're good.

And if it killed that "GPU", you're even better :)

was the PC running? if not, you are fine. I swap parts without unplugging because unplugging the power cable is far too much work.

I just looked at the thread from your signature... I wish that didn't get locked. Lol.

*recovers from literal speachlessness*

Any particular reason the 960 alone isn't able to provide the ports you need?
