Best controller for fighting games

Hi there,

So I just downloaded King of Fighters on Steam and I have few other fighting games installed, and I would like to know what controllers are more suitable for these games. I'm using Xbox 360 controllers and after playing with my brother, we both noticed that it's kind of awkward. We've been playing similar games for years back in the (original) PlayStation days, and now using the left joystick to make combos just feels awkward. Maybe we should just get used to it... But should we just get PS4 controllers or one of these Arcade controllers with 6 buttons (instead of 4 buttons and 2 triggers)? I'm curious to know what hardware you guys use to play fighting games.

Thanks

The only fighting game I play is super smash bros, and gamecube controller is a must imo for that, I have played it with a 360 controller and it feels odd, the main issue is that the buttons on the right are small, playstation controllers are fine imo for button mashy games and for every no mashing game 360 controllers are good

I don't play any fighting games (although I own some and I want to eventually get into them), but the Hori Commander 4 seems to be one of the better options out there.  I kinda want to get it just for retro games.

I agree! I love the GameCube controller, especially for Smash Bros

Thanks (I actually I asked before he edited his message). What's wrong with the PS4 controller?

Personally I dont really like the sticks (My thumbs sit uncomfortable on the ridges on the sticks). I also dont like the triggers on it and would rather have a regular start and select button, rather than the touch pad and options button. Other than that, I dont really like the overall shape.

The buttons (including Dpad) are pretty great though.

I see. Now I hate that both PS3 and PS4 controllers cost the same price !

the PS3 controller still being 60 euros after almost a decade is just a ripoff.
