All compressed air is largely the same.

It consists of liquid that rapidly expands into a gas, which is why if you spray it for too long, liquid spews out. You're using more gas faster than the expansion process occurs. Additionally, if you flip the can upside down, it will cause the gas to be at the bottom and the liquid to be at the top, causing liquid to spew out when sprayed. They also contain no normal air and consist of chemicals that can be harmful if enough is breathed in - if you want proof that "air" is not in those cans, spray it near your face and breath in. You get a "chemical" smell.

Because of the rapid expansion, if you do get liquid on a component like a PCB, it evaporates very quickly.

Information about the ingredients used in "compressed air" can be found here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gas_duster

any compressed air works, just don't turn the can upside down

Pro Tip: don't use flash when taking pictures of your build; use a longer exposure instead. Prop up your camera with something (preferably a tripod) if necessary.

if you use retarded/autistic/etc to mean stupid please gtfo

Here is my compressor. It's a 8gallon, 1.5hp. I payed 110cad for it a few years ago. Painted my sled, changed / refilled countless tires, and rebuilt one engine. Its a luxury that I love to live with.

So what you're saying is i shouldn't be using "compressed air"

Also, are you not supposed to shake the can of compressed air, like a can of whipped cream, before using it to clean your system?

Serious question, planning on cleaning my PC soon and would rather learn now then after.

If the instructions do not state to shake the can, I would say to not do it. I'm not advising any method - using an air compressor works and so does the "compressed air" method. It's just more harmful to use it.

So wait should I use compressed air cans or buy one of those air compressors?

it really depends. i would regularly clean 3-4 computers every other week. so i spent $80 on a real air compressor(that my ex stole), saved me a lot of money in the long run.   if you are only going to clean your computer once per month or so, and dont need to fill tires and other shit, i would just get canned air. dont shake it, and dont flip it upside down and you'll be fine.
