GTX960 with GTX970 in SLI? [SOLVED]

Do you think it's a good idea (if possible) to mix a 4GB Gigabyte G1 GTX970 with a 4GB Asus Strix GTX960 in SLI?

You can't, you can only sli the same cards: 970 with a 970, 960 with a 960...

nope, will not work. XFire is much more flexible, SLI is not

no way men!.. you can use them in the same PC as two separated cards but they cannot be connected in SLI...

In order for SLI to function, you must have the same GPU(970 with 970) with the same amount of VRAM and bus width. Additionally, NVIDIA requires at least x8 on the PCIe slot across all generations. So to answer your question directly, it won't work due to one being a 960 and the other being a 970. You can mix manufacturers, but not VRAM amounts or GPU types.
