What are the chances of an AIO springing a leak?

DKM1129

Looking to get a AIO water cooler like a seidon 120v I just want to know what are chances of it springing a leak? Also how long would it be able to run without any issues? 2-3 years? I'd go for a hyper 212 but mounting is a B#tch! Oh and I'm trying to cool a AMD a10 7850k in a corsair 100r, currently it only have a exhaust fan and stock heatsink.....freaking hot

Chances are slim, but it's possible. I like to test for proper operation prior to installing it. For peace of mind I would opt for the 212.

Hope you're using AMD software to monitor the temps as the way they're measured on the APU range is a bit weird. Also how likely is a AIO to leak? I dunno, it's pretty rare, like the most popular hottest girl you know asking you out, not impossible but probably not going to happen...

over time...100%

they all fail at some point...i dont like mine i think about it all the time and i know at some point it will fail on me.

get a good air cooler instead would be my advise, they last forever and are quiter they dont leak and dont host a pump that will die on you and might do all kind of wierd shit and noise.

H110i GTX, Corsair offers damage claims if their AIOs leak.  In a world where very few companies take responsibility for their products, Corsair reigns supreme.

good luck with that!

they will replace the unit, but other than that you'd be screwed.

I've read several cases here where they've made good on their damage claims.  I know it's not a for sure thing.  However like I said before, in a world where very few companies take responsibility for their products, I'd rather not buy some piece of shit EK or Raijintek garbage.  You know what I mean? :)

humm...no i don't?! since EK waterblocks are the best in the world and are order of magnitude higher quality that ANY of this corsair trash?!

And a serviceable, expandeable AIO that use standard industry fitting across the board and a strong variable speed PWM pump like the raijintek triton for example is ALSO worlds better than a closed loop non serviceable corsair unit...since with a serviceable AIO you CAN actualy fix it and replace parts if you end up having problems with it..i think you have no idea what you are talking about ;)

Your reaction to his post was a bit over the top mate, also EK aren't trash, I'd rather trust EK than Corsair after reading all the failures and having dealt with Corsair RMA several times, wasn't a great experience...

I don't suffer fools well.  Aesthetically(yeah, I know) EKs are trash.  I thought it was hilarious he's using a shitty plastic Raijintek and had the nerve to waste a post.

Raijinteks quality is equivilant to Afterglows for controllers.  Generic trash.

Wrong model, h110i.  And i'd rather a pump burn out than a hideous structural defect take out components because I bought a generic shitty watercooler because it lights up. LOL

I have had no problems with the mountine of my 212 Evo

Maybe I'm special then I have one on my personal rig I'm actually dreading having to clean the thermal paste next year because of how difficult it was to mount the unit the scissorsounting system they have going is ridiculous

Noctua NH-U12S. Easy mounting, good cooling.

I've been running an AIO since early this year with no issues

Noctua products aren't available in my country I wish they were though

That's good to hear something positive the 7850k runs so hot with its stock cooler that I'm pretty adamant that the best way to cool it properly is to have the heat dumped straight out the case like a AIO does

Yeah see dude thats my main problem it's not for my personal rig where I can hear those noises and figure something out to make them go away or know just before the thing breaks that I need to replace it. It's actually for my girlfriends new PC that I built. Any idea how the 7850k would OC on a hyper 212?

from what I understand you ship the entire computer to the company they determine all the stuff that died and give you a cheque

Thats that. If you need to get in touch chances are you can find someone that knows me that can get in touch.

That's a bit dodgy they could just say it wasn't the coolers fault and be done with it

most likely as far as it will go if you have correct airflow in the case it will not limit your overclock.
