When I started to Fold, my CPU usage shot up all the way to 100%. Even moving a window is laggy. Still worth it though.

I haven't folded recently because of heat, but I use to fold for techpowerup!

Tag along and fold with us! If you dont want to deal with the heat, fold during the Winter season.

Tag along and fold with us! If you dont want to deal with the heat, fold during the Winter season.

Probably will, but my air conditioner gets loud in the summer when my computer is under load.

No only while on full. I hope more options for gpu folding will be added later.  @Whaler_99 knows more about that :)

We are all hoping for more options on the next version.

 

Recommend, you leave it on medium while doing day-to-day stuff. This is perfect for most people. Then just make sure you have your power options set to never put the computer to sleep and a screen saver timeout of say 5 minutes. Once your screen saver starts, CPU goes to 100% and the GPU's start Folding again. This is the best setting for most people.

 

Also, I recommend, from the icon in the Systray, go into the Advanced menu. Couple of changes. Click Configure - then on the CPU slot - if it says 8 or -1, change it to 7 (I assume you have an 8 core unit). Leave one core free for the GPU and general work. Also, on the GPU slot, add in the advanced Flag.

I dont see the Advances menu in my System tray...
