hi, a mate wants to change his 21" 1080p tn display with a dying backlight to a bigger 27"

he got a 980ti, dont remember the brand, and plays 1/3 fps 2/3 rpgs

would you guys recommend any "worthy" 27" IPS displays which still run at 1080p?(maybe with gsync)

the rog swifts dont fit his budget (~ 500 bucks)

Depending on how close you sit to your monitor, most computer setups with the screen quite close, 24" would be probably the best screen size for pixel density at 1080p.

Its not too bad to get a bigger one, but just thought id chip and and try help out :)

he mostly sits like 1m away(head-display distance) from his display sometimes closer because everything is so tiny on 21" xD

Really? My monitor is 32 inches and it seems to do the job well?

You might think it does, but if you upgraded to 1440p you would really notice the difference,  going above 24" for 1080p is not a great experience IMO

Also your monitor is 32"? is it a TV? because then its even worse as TVs introduce lots of input lag

if he has a 980ti I would be looking at 1440p maybe 144hz too

^ This. Since he has already a 980Ti he should be going for a 27'' 1440p screen. It will be so much better.

PS: For a 32'' screen to look properly nice it should be 4K, not even 1440p on that big of a display looks good from 1m distance.

It is/was a Samsung TV purchased a few years ago and pressed into service when my old monitor died. It was really expensive and served me well for years

Now that I have a new PC and a 980ti I am looking at 1440p monitors, I would appreciate some suggestions around the £500 - £600 mark

Thanks
