Choosing a 27" monitor. IPS vs TN vs AMVA+. 1080p vs 1440p

jtai117

its your choice, I dont like 1080p at 27" but it might work better with your GPU when gaming

http://www.scorptec.com.au/product/Monitors/25%2B_inch/58913-CB270HU It's looking at around $489 for a 27" 1440p IPS monitor.

Yeah, that's the only reason why I know of them. They say they're pretty good. I don't know much about PLS and AH-VA though

To get close in what way? Response time? I'm not a super competitive gamer so I don't know if it'll matter that much. Also, I thought IPS panels have better colours?

Yes IPS panels have more vibrant colors, and response time and Input lag etc (things that are Important for gamers) are hard to match on IPS panels, thats why most gamers use TN panels, even for games that are not very competetive and fast paced, you'll still want minimal Input lag when gaming, but not all IPS monitors are so bad, check the reviews on Individual monitors, but nothing will match the speed of a TN panel. Also make sure the IPS panel you're buying Isnt suffering from backlight bleeding or IPS glow beacuse that can be REALLY annoying.

Hmm ok well thank you for the information. I'll do more research and make sure.
