Hyperthreading

Go to solution Solved by GodSpoon,

Its your choice, in the long term the i7 would be "better" with higher compute performance, but from what it sounds like your not gonna really see a huge difference

Although there is always resell value, and i7s tend to hold that better

You will be able to overclock both pretty well with an aftermarket cooler more than likely

Just my two cents, but I would personally buy the i7 if it was in my budget :)

But thats me, you do you :P

Hi guys.

My friend is trying to convince me to get the i7 6700k over the 6600k because he reckons hyperthreading is just that bit better. I do intend to do gaming but this pc is mostly for schoolwork. So having 100 tabs open in chrome is useful (loo) should I go for the 6700k and OC? I do intend to OC the i5 should I get it

Thanks!!!

depends on what you want to spend $$$ on. Its a subjective thing for most, spend a bit more $$$ for performance or lower price less performance.

if you can afford it, google chrome will love the i7 :)
