You will get games right away.

I preordered Steam Controller and got games immediately. Too bad I ordered it after 19 October so I will have to wait for 2-3 December for the controller to get delivered.

I'm thinking of pre-ordering the steam link because it comes with $40 of games that I actually want, and it would be nice to play casual games on my TV. If I pre-order it, will I get the games right away or when it ships to me?

Thread hijack, but can't you just use a HDMI cable to play on the TV? Why a steam link?

My girlfriend agreed to buy me one as a Christmas gift. It will get here around 2-3 December but she won't let me open it until the 24th. I will be very frustrated.

Sure you can. But some people doesent want to drill trough the walls just to get cable trough 2 rooms. Or have doors opened because there is cable... Not everyone has PC right besides the TV.

I feel ya. I am already frustraded by waiting so long. I was hoping it will arrive within few days but oh .. whatever :(.
