I love Windows 10.

If you want, you could buy Win 7 legit for cheap, then when it's activated you can upgrade to Win 10 for free.

I would go for Windows 10; it seems pretty superior to 8 & 7 so far to me and it's newer so it'll be compatible with more things (most notably DX12)

Pro Tip: don't use flash when taking pictures of your build; use a longer exposure instead. Prop up your camera with something (preferably a tripod) if necessary.

if you use retarded/autistic/etc to mean stupid please gtfo

If you want more privacy than what is offered in Win10, get Windows 7.

If that doesn't matter to you at all, get Windows 10.

Only for 30 days after the upgrade actually.

Really ? TIL.

Well for me 30 days is more than enough to "test" it. Your choice. :D

You can get windows 10 pro.

More security options, however you DO have to know how to use them...

Having pro edition will not change the privacy concerns in Windows 10.

Most people like 7 more, as it's an interface that we have gotten used to for a long time now, and people are lazy as to learn how to use 10 properly. There's also some things with Windows 10 non-Pro that some people might not like, such as privacy concerns and Windows Update not shutting up.

For HDD users it's often worth the learning curve as 10 is noticeably quicker to boot up, but with a decent SSD you won't be complaining about 7 boot times.

Windows 10 because 7 isn't really supported anymore

What do you mean? 7 will be supported for a loooong time. Even Vista (SP2) is still supported.

You sure it's still supported? Vista is no longer supported (as in updates and stuff) by Microsoft

On Tuesday, Microsoft will end "Mainstream Support" for Windows Vista, moving into an "Extended Support" phase that lasts through April 11, 2017. Microsoft will no longer offer of no-charge incident support, warranty claims and design fixes for the 5-year-old operating system.

That doesn't mean that it isn't supported by Microsoft anymore (unlike XP), it still gets patches and security updates. Mainstream support ending means there will be no more feature additions or service packs to be released for it.

I just need something to run games on ultra and do some school work xD. Is one better than the other in that category?

Technically Windows 10 slightly performs better in DX11 games, but with a 970 you won't notice the difference. However a difference you'll likely notice is that Windows 10 has full support for DX12.
