I am searching for a way to record BF4 multiplayer uncompressed(I need the audio in the highest quality possible) I tried traps and I believe it uses CPU encoding but my frames drop down to ~5.

My current idea is to reduce resolution which will not affect sound. Any other suggestions? Programs?

Shadowplaly compresses instantly but might be my last resort.

SNIP

Try OBS or maybe Xplit - there are various codecs

you will have to record compressed unless you have like a beast computer, but you can still try and get a high bitrate

Try MSI Afterburners Uncompressed capture, afaik from testing AGES ago, it performs better than fraps does, not by much, but enough to make a difference.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

Just so you know. I don't care about visuals as long as you can barely see what's happening. I only care about audio

I have no idea :)

Btw Shadowplay crunches in 50mbps easily or is that just due to codec ?

Maybe record screen with other program and record voice with something like audacity if you only care about audio quality or do you want to have high ingame sound quality?

You cannot change the codec with shadowplay, since it uses the built in hardware on the GPU

but you can for OBS etc

You can get higher than 50mbps on the new cards, they do up to 150 I believe

Only high ingame quality. I want to go out and test headphones.

But there is a slider of bitrate in shadowplay, at least for me there is one ...

Yep but on my 780ti I can only choose 50mbps

on the laptop with 970m I tested it went up to 130mbps

So obviously some cards can handle a higher bitrate, in OBS you can choose the bitrate and also use different codecs, you can also use intel quicksync if you have an intel CPU

record using the lagarith codec.

I know Bandicam and DxTory support it.

I have personally used lagarith and I quite like it, but i don't have a big enough hard drive for lossless recordings ;(

EDIT: I suggest that you use bandicam, use lagarith and record audio in .wav files. It works for me.

hello!

is it me you're looking for?

-Overkill Dell XPS

Fully maxed out early 2017 Dell XPS 15, GTX 1050 4GB, 7700HQ, 1TB nvme SSD, 32GB RAM, 4k display. 97Whr battery :x
Dell was having a $600 off sale for the fully specced out model, so I decided to get it :P

-Crapbook

Fully specced out early 2013 Macbook "pro" with gt 650m and constant 105c temperature on the CPU (GPU is 80-90C) when doing anything intensive...

A 2013 laptop with a regular sized battery still has better battery life than a 2017 laptop with a massive battery! I think this is a testament to apple's ability at making laptops, or maybe how little CPU technology has improved even 4+ years later (at least, until the recent introduction of 15W 4 core CPUs). Anyway, I'm never going to get a 35W CPU laptop again unless battery technology becomes ~5x better than as it is in 2018.

Apple knows how to make proper consumer-grade laptops (they don't know how to make pro laptops though). I guess this mostly software power efficiency related, but getting a mac makes perfect sense if you want a portable/powerful laptop that can do anything you want it to with great battery life.
