u do usually get a legit copy, but I usually possible pirate it as a "trial" so see if I even want the game after playing it for a couple hours, and if I still play it I wait for a sale and buy it

I don't care if you're playing pirated games or not, but that doesn't change the fact that you could be compromising your system with pirated copies. It could be a Trojan, miner or nothing at all. At the end of the day, you're playing Russian roulette and hoping you don't infect your system.

No reason to assume it's a false positive. Other than that you probably really, really, REALLY hope it is. Mind is an amazing thing.

Keygens and cracks often trip antimalware/antivir protection. But they usually state that that's what it is. Since it's a trojan, it's more likely exactly that. Cleaning it now might not solve the issue. You already allowed this program access online and it's sole purpose is likely to download something else onto your computer. A keylogger probably but who the hell knows. I'd do nothing short of re-formatting the whole damn thing.

Also it is only illegal if you are DISTRIBUTING the pirated software like seeding so it is fine to be honest because in reality everyone here is a pirate.

Virustotal basically never fails so I am going to assume you are infected. Norton or anything of the like is really bad so you should consider getting AVG or Panda antivirus and scanning your computer or using a virus recovery linux live CD.

I heard a was one of the worst either way I has no money so is there anything free or that has a free trial that will work? And what do you mean by infected ? It was a single file that I never launched so what could it have done ?

What I mean by that is that I am pretty sure that your computer has a virus that is key logging or anything like it. If you scan you can follow prompts that ask you if you really want to remove it. It is basically all automated now.

well thats quite simple btw how is malware bytes ? And what do you recomend for an antivirus ? I need one for 70$ cad or under and for 3 pcs besides norton

Sry m8 gotta sleep but malware bytes is somewhat good but not the best and have you been living under a console? Basically those free programs I said earlier are FREE antiviruses, everything is free and all in one now.

You might want to give Kaspersky a try. Damn good AV and you can do a 30 day trial. About 30$ per year.

If it is NOT a virus, and is a false positive, then add it to your anti-virus whitelist, so it will pass.

Game cracks do not usually contain viruses. In 15 years of pirating, Ive caught maybe... 4 viruses? (Oh and BTW, I dont use an antivirus. I use my common sense, verfied sites and communities).

 

However. alot of antiviruses see cracks as a virus because well... they kind of are. They modify how files work, sometimes change registiries, run under applications so on and so on...

M8 just get Panda antivirus because AVG takes your data as from what iv'e heard.
