i3 or i5?

Hi guys.

I'm building new pc and i donno what should i get. PC will be used for games. At first there is used i3 3220 for around 85$ and there is brand new i3 4160 for around 120$. 

 

So is it worth extra 35$ to get haswell brand new or? Also is it worth to go on i5 4440 or this i3 will do good for gaming? 

 

I planned to put 8gb with gtx760 or 960 or r9 280.

If you can afford it, try getting i5 4460 with an H97/B85 board and the R9 380 4GB.

i5 is worth it if you can't afford it go for the 4160

If you need to choose between Intel Core i3 or i5, always go for the i5. Save some money and buy the Intel Core i5 4460 or even better 4670/4690(K).

IF you can get a much better hardware for not much more, better to save up for it in the long run you will be much happier

If your budget is tight, somehow fit an i3-4170/60 with an R9 380

Definitely get an i5, an i3 will become obsolete way too fast.

If you're going to be running a 760, you'd be fine with an i3. For the 960, I'd recommend getting an i5.

I see people saying i should get 380, but no. I had once amd card and never again. And also maybe i will get 5-7 more fps, but really i prefer nvida now. 

 

I will probably get i3 4160 with gtx 960 8gb, and 120gb ssd. This is budget pc build. I might try to pick the i5 4440.

I5 is much better however you probably wont see a big difference between ib and haswell for the i3s so go for the 3220 if that means you can put the money into a better gpu.
