CoD 4 and CoD MW2 playerbase?

Hello all,

 

I'm thinking about buying CoD 4 or CoD MW2. I used to have the cracked version (Skidrow) of MW2, and I remember having a blast everytime I played it. Never played CoD 4 though.

What's the player count? Is it still possible to play those games or is it pointless buying them and/or is it full of cheaters?

CoD 4 on console, 90% of players are hackers, maybe only a hundred or so playing.

CoD MW2 on console, 80% of players are hacked or hackers, maybe only a couple hundred playing.

 

CoD 4 on PC, half a dozen scantily clad neckbeards talking about how this is the best CoD, and they're mostly hacking as well.

CoD MW2 on PC, a couple dozen screaming children that their mothers bought them the wrong call of duckty, and they hate it, so they all hack.

4 has like no players, and mw2 = mod/hacker hell.  Even black ops 2 is plagued with this now.

I'm not buying it then, it's a shame though, amazing games but ruined by little kids...

I play CoD4 from time to time, dedicated servers and community moderators. There are a decent amount of servers up with healthy playerbases. I probably wouldn't bother buying CoD4 until it's $10 or $5, at $20 it's too much to ask for considering how old the game is. I have seen a few cheaters here and there on PC, but not an overbearing amount by any means.

in their defense hacking is moderatly fun....for a few minutes. I remember a couple months into World at War's run I installed the UFO hack on CoD 4 on my ps3...fun times

Wet works was the best -- it was a cargo ship (a very small map filled with containers), so you'd noclip into a container with an LMG (so you can see out, but no one can see in -- so keep moving around and you never die). gg.

COD MW2 was the most fun game I have ever played. Played so much of it, never got bored of it.

But yes, the CODs they make nowadays are pretty bad.

I bought cod 4 for like 2$ for the singleplayer.  back when cod games were good.

I thought 4 lost all the players, or maybe I set i up wrong.  

I know when you go into multiplayer you have to refresh the server list manually or set some filters, I haven't played in a while, but I do remember a blank server list until I clicked on refresh.

4 has dedicated servers, and still has some communities up.

MW2 also has some players around, but that leaves you more vulnerable to modded lobbies.  Keep in mind you can't get VAC banned from that, however it is annoying to have legitimate progress only to get to get 999999999 xp on your first kill when joining a game at random.

Cod4 on pc still has a decent player base ish, Some fun modded servers aswell and I personally run my own promod server which me and my friends have a lot of fun on and it is welcome to all!

Shame for all the hacking, I loved playing those games so much.
