How do you properly clean an old keyboards keycaps?

NJM1112

So i recently found an OmniKey101 with white alps and i want to use it. It's old but not heavily used. It's got some age marks and some dark spots. How do i properly clean the the keycaps?

I've seen methods of soaking them in hot water & soap and even vinegar solutions. But i'm unsure what the right way to go about this is. I don't want to accidentally ruin an antique.

Try isopropyl alcohol? or just wash it with water will do. I've already tried that with my father's old keyboard.

I've got about half a bottle of 70% isopropyl on hand.

Would you recommend i do a Large (diluted) batch for a long time? I mean I'm not in a hurry.

I ended up putting them in a hot water bath with some soap for about 10mins. I poured out the water and scrubbed&dried them with a dry wash cloth. They weren't that dirty surprisingly. They're drying on my 2nd desk now.
