Just a recommendation get a 390 instead :/

if he can get a good deal like this its worth the small difference in performance

plus with most gtx cards right now you even get a free game which will make it an even better value

MSI

reference cooler or custom?

You get a free game with AMD too. Never used it but it's there, I don't like racing games.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

Is it any better than a 970 because they are around the same price

Um yes but I don't know if you can get them for the same price, the G1 gaming from gigabyte and the red msi version

I've seen Zotacs for $289 but I'd spring for the extra fans and power of the Omega Core Edition.

The stock one is the one that is coming my way and it's a smaller PCB than reference.

Ah ha ha... That small guy? Be warned, the fans are loud(at high speeds) and it'll probably not overclock as good as the others.

Yea I've heard just make a fan profile. It's the same size fans that were on my GTX 770 and at 100% they are loud but 80% wasn't too bad.

Also... I'm not worried about OCing the card much. I'll see how it performs. All I ask is that it works better than the 770 did near the end of it's life, lol.

From what I gather, I used to be used in SLI and the guy that sold it to me only had it 4 months. So... the card lasted 1 year. That's terrible and I didn't even abuse it. It never overheated. Sometimes you get lucky like with my 7850... still kicking and I overclock it ALOT.... never breaks 64c. If my fan is at 80% it runs about 60-61c in games. Since I didn't really have to pay for it, I'm just going to have to hope it performs better than the 770.

I cant seem to find info at the moment on them but I swear that both the 770 and 970 use 80mm fans. The bigger card just has 3 80mm fans and a longer PCB.

If you find something different, go ahead and post the link.

Assuming this is your card:

The fans are 85mm. The fans on that mini 970 is 80mm.

Ehem...

*cough* some people *cough* might like it *cough* *cough* *cough*

LOL. jk. :D

Sadly I don't think there are free games from the sellers here, most probably they'll snag it then sell it too (disclaimer: this is a baseless opinion (kind of), though my case came with only one fan instead of two).
