Forum badges/titles

Hello guys

 

How do the badges/forum titles work? I've found the bronze/silver/gold contributor but I can't find anything about the rest.

 

I've done some searching and I couldn't find a post about it. So if there is one, please direct me to it

The actual badges are awarded for various things by the mod team - if you participate in the folding or boinc teams, you get the badges associated with that; trusted advisor and news reporter badges are awarded for being particularly knowledgable in a particular area and posting good news topics in the news subforum respectively.

You can change your title once you reach 500 posts.

As in member group, there's

Member - regular forum member

Moderator - forum moderator, access to moderating tools

Administrator - forum administrator, administrator access to site's code, and access to administrating tools including placing IP bans and promoting users

Developer - forum developer, administrator access to the site's code, presumably also moderator tools

Contributor - forum donator, access to special subforums

Banned - banned user, be it user or IP.

I got my title when I got my medallion.

 

I'm sure the guys have already said what I wanted to say. You get to change your title after hitting 500 posts. The badges are awarded for the F@H team, mods and devs. Wish there was a witcher badge. LOL

I saw a schnitzel badge in the list, I want that one!

That was a one-off badge for the new office campaign, and isn't available any more.

There are no custom badges available at the moment, but it's possible that there might be another crowd funding campaign in the future where you might be able to buy your own badge. It is a top tier reward though, so they're not cheap.

this confuses me. ive posted at least 2000 news posts, actual posts not links and one liners. never got the news reporter badge which was pretty much the reason i started doing news.

you may remember the news war of late 2013 to early 2014 between me and topwargamer. He got a badge and i didnt. he won the war and stopped doing news, i kept on going wishing that one day my life goal would be achieved. that i look in the mirror and realise that i had a purpose so that i could show my prowess as a true keyboard warrior worthy of the three kingdoms of ancient china.
