i7 4960K + 390 OR i5 4690K + 980

Which would be better for gaming. I want this build to last as long as possible, I will be playing a lot of games on it such as Fallout 4 and Just cause 3.

4690k WITH r9 fury(non-x) for $50ish+

980 doesn't perform as great as r9 fury

I'd personally prefer to go for the 4690k/980, but that's a personal preference of having higher FPS and a better experience overall.

i7 6700k w/ R9 290x

 

-Edit @byalexandr says NOT to get reference cooler.

Unless of course you plan to watercool it like I did. Then the temps are insane.
