My first build - Nicolai

Hello, I decided that I will share my build with everyone else for ideas and future upgrades.

I built this pc around 10th December 2012.

Main components.

  • Powersupply - Corsair CX600 ( Looking for a upgrade )
  • Case - Cooler Master CM 690 II Advanced White
  • CPU - Intel® Core i5-3570K CPU @ 3.40 ~ 3.80 ~ 4.20Ghz
  • GPU - Sapphire HD 7950 3GB@New component.
  • RAM - 4x4GB Kingston HyperX Blu 1600Mhz 1.65V
  • Motherboard - MSI Z77A-G43

What's the budget for PSU and GPU? Best bang for the buck around 200 is curently 7870 XT.

Power supply is ok for now. Maybe look to upgrade GPU to a 7870 or something in there... If you ever decide to go cross fire, then might need to bump up the PSU to 750ish...

I have been considering a 7870, however, for crossfire what would the performance be with 2x7870's?

Dual 7870's would be "good" but also depends what games and apps you use and some won't use crossfire at all. Better to then consider a 7970 which will give you overall better performance in everything...

Yes, I already did look into that and like you said, not all games, and apps runs crossfire very good, and some does not even use it, it however depends how much cash I have as the time comes.
