My desk keeps getting covered in dust, I cleared it all off yesterday and when I came back today it had another thin layer.

What would be the best way to keep the dust away from my desk+PC

live in a plastic bubble?

have a high powered industrial fan blowing a thin film of air across your desk like one of those dyson airblade things?

put your desk into outer space?

put your desk underwater?

cover your desk in a big plastic bag?

I like the underwater idea.

Thought of that, does it work?

No matter what you do there will always be dust, however you can limit the amount of dust by:-

  1. keeping your home clean, which means regularly cleaning it from top to bottom
  2. keeping pets with fur outside
  3. keeping windows and doors closed and using AC
  4. no smoking or using body powder

A water-cooled mid-tier gaming PC.

Hi,

If your desk is in the same room you sleep, then you'll have to clean every day. Just by moving your beddings around will make your room dusty. Well, not exactly dust but fibers. I still think of them as the same because they get on my nerves the same. Not to mention, your clothes you wear and change into, cover your surroundings with those micro fibers too. (unless you have a dryer with good filtration)

The best solution is to not have too much clutter on your desk so wiping it is easier and faster. That way, you can just make it a morning routine.

And an air purifier does help too if you don't mind the noise.

Yep, most people have covered this but try to limit how much stuff you have around your desk area. Things like curtains, cushions, pillows, clothes, etc. don't help the dust situation. Carpet vs. wooden (or laminate) floor is a big one as well as any pets or kids you have that are running around, kicking up dust. Regardless of those things, you can't eliminate all dust but you can help reduce it.

My case has magnetic dust filters on top of every single area of ventilation. It's very easy to remove it and simply vacuum the dust off.

Worst bit is I have huge curtains, a carpet, quite a few pillows, a double duvet and other bits and pieces lying around that won't help. Can't really do much about it though.

Might need to get a few for a few areas on my PC
