Adobe Premiere Pro is Adobes Professional Video Editing Software.
Adobe After Effects is Adobes Professional "CGI" Software.
 

Of course if Premiere Pro is too complex for your tastes, you can also try Adobe Premiere Elements which is like a watered down easier to use edition.
