Why don't you just use Windows ?

Ubuntu isn't meant to run like windows

It depends how you define 'good desktop environment'

What are some good desktop environments ?

XFCE4 for mediocre systems (i5 Nehalem-ish)

LXDE for lighweight systems (i3)

Those are menu based and lighweight. Now:

For maximum eye-candy KDE Plasma 5.4 with proprietary drivers

For overall goodness GNOME 3. Needs also mediocre system and Proprietary graphics drivers to work smooth.

For small ARM Based computers use something like i3, dwm, twm, OpenBox or something like that.

Cheers. I use XFCE4 personally on my Lenovo T61

A desktop environment that works like windows

XFCE4 with Whisker Menu is what you are looking for

You can make XFCE4 behave and look (button-layout-wise) the same as Windows 7.

To be honest Ubuntu's unity layout is pretty trash. If you're looking for Ubuntu with a more familiar Windows feel, go with Mint with a cinnamon desktop environment.

I wouldn't go for Mint, it's pretty dated at this point due to their long LTS cycles. FYI it's based on Ubuntu 14.10, If I were him I would go with Ubuntu Mate 15.10, or something like that.
