How will this system perform? F@H

Go to solution Solved by comicsansms,

I will be using this system to game in the morning/afternoon however when I go to bed I want to start F@H

Ok.

If it is used for gaming and video editing it will be fine.

It will also be fine for folding.

I will be using this system to game in the morning/afternoon however when I go to bed I want to start F@H. Will this system be a good F@H system or should I just scrap F@H because F@H for 1-10 hours a night just will not be worth it.

Get a lower end CPU and a high end GPU.

But my morning uses might take a hit. Video editing + rendering, gaming

I thought you meant this was a Folding PC, and was only going to be used for folding.

I would swap out the 970 to a 390.

An AMD cpu has no place in a solely gaming build, end of.

I3 4150, Intel HD graphics, corsair CX750M, 4gb ram, Asus H81M-E, corsair 230T, Intel stock cooler WD Green 2TB Gigabyte 550TI

Why you shouldn't trust Gpu or Cpu boss Click on this I dare you!

Everything with a half decent cpu and or a half decent gpu can be used for folding. Yours is certainly more

than half decent.

There is nothing wrong with folding over night and/or when you are at school or work. I don't think they initially

expected such a big community surrounding it with people making dedicated rigs and whatnot. The whole idea

behind it is to utilize some of the dead time/spare cycles on a normal consumers pc which isn't being used to

its full potential, there is alot of them.. hence it adds up to some pretty decent computing power if you can

reach enough people.

You will however be loosing out on bonus points from QRB, which can be abit of a bummer/annoyance depending

on how much you care.

Yea do a 390x, would be better in terms of folding and most games, and who doesn't like all that VRAM?

A shadowy flight into the dangerous world of a man who does not exist.

Core 4 Quad Not Extreme, only available on LGA 557 at your local Circuit City

the 390x is a good card, go for a sapphire or XFX card DONT go for the Asus Strix it runs hot (in the high 70's and low 80's). I have XFX they run in the 70-78c range and sapphire runs around 70 -75c
