750w or 650w for Build?

I'm planning on using the Sapphire Nitro R9 390 for my first PC build but I'm not sure if I should get a 750w or  650w power supply, what would you guys recommend? On pcparpicker the TDP is 275w, but on the Sapphire website it says power consumption is 375w and they also suggest a 750w power supply. I've read that some people are running it on ~650w power supplies without any issues, but I just wanted to know what you guys would recommend (is 750w too much?) and/or if you guys knew why Sapphire suggests 750w. Total wattage for my build would be 581 if the power consumption of the card is 375w. I do have one other question that is probably really dumb but, does a  6+2 pin connector go into the 8 pin socket? I plan on getting an EVGA G2 power supply if someone was wondering. Anyways thanks for taking the time to read this!  :) Sorry if these were dumb questions.

750w

750 is the minimum recommendation for two 390s so make of that what you will. 650W is plenty. Go with an EVGA GS/B2/G2 etc.

You can never have too much really, just that an excessively powerful PSU will be a waste of money and actually be less efficient than if you loaded it more

Yes, they are one and the same

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

Glad to help! If going Xfire down the road be sure to go with 850W though. Just putting it out there.

Ah that makes sense. Thanks for your advice and for clarifying the 6+2 pin doubt!

Even 550W is more than enough for a 390. 600-650W is what I'd get.
