You can probably re-adjust it, but it goes without saying that you should be very, very careful. CPU socket pins are extremely delicate, and if you snap one off, you're in for a world of trouble, which could mean possibly replacing the motherboard.

In my opinion, I'm not certain if it's worth the risk to reseat it yourself, especially if it's an expensive motherboard. Consider going down to the outlet you purchased it from and informing them of the defect, as trying to fix it yourself might void the warranty on the board, forcing you to purchase another.

Carefully pull it back into its proper position with tweezers, and you're fine.

Lol. I didn't know that.

i straightened out an old p4 cpu i think it was, with totally wrecked pins (every one bent in different directions) and got them all straight in about 20min and it posted! Used a razor on its side thou, credit card would probably be better.
