I'm new at building PCs, so excuse the noob question. What's the best way to add LED lighting to a case, how do you do it and what's the best product? Do people just use LED strips that you get in a big roll? Where do you plug them in?

Usually people just get one color or maybe RGB LEDs on an adhesive strip and slap it in their case; the top and bottom work well because you can't see the LEDs themselves, just the light the emit. I've heard that BitFenix makes good LED strips (I think). If you want to get into some programming, but more fun, you can get an adafruit neopixel strip and a blinkstick (google 'em) and then you can program each RGB LED individually.

Pro Tip: don't use flash when taking pictures of your build; use a longer exposure instead. Prop up your camera with something (preferably a tripod) if necessary.

if you use retarded/autistic/etc to mean stupid please gtfo

I had one too

it works great

manual controls work nicely, good lighting effects, nice even lighting, very bright

the only down side is that RGB white looks bad so I replaced it with some pure white bitfenix strips

There are many vids on Youtube, this is how i put mine!

The best way is the 5 meters, you can cut every 3 leds and sold with some wires to make the corners or where ever you need.

Dont forget to put an on/off switch

If you want RGB lights they work great but as said white is a dirty white since it mixes the three colors to produce it, the next best thing is to use RGBW LED's like theses, they wire up via a molex to dc barrel adapter which you can get seperately:

http://www.amazon.com/SUPERNIGHT-Waterproof-300leds-Flexible-Controller/dp/B00KVBXE0G/ref=pd_sim_60_8?ie=UTF8&refRID=0N9NTN73ZPPX9WVEFE4M

If you want predone strips though checkout Addon Customs and Modguru for LED kits.
