What does your friend mean by the power supply tripping? I know what tripping means, but the power supply will not trip.

100% fine. The 760W rating is the maximum you can draw from it.

the PSU will be very quiet since it will always be at less than 30% load

If the system is only gonna use less than three hundred watts consider getting a five hundred watt power supply and save yourself some cash.

I still know what that meant, but a power supply will not trip if the unit is not at its max. Otherwise, no system would be able to idle - they'd all shut off.
