Looking for some advice on getting a new video card.

Deusrex

I currently have a 780Ti evga classified edition. With a single 2560 x 1440 monitor, and I want to get a new g-sync monitor with same resolution and size (probably the Asus ROG 160 hrz monitor that's coming out) do you guys think I need a new card to drive both of these monitors?

I have a 4790k and I was thinking I could drive the non g-sync display with the onboard video as well.

And advice would be appreciated. :)

780 Ti still performs respectfully at 1440P, you should be fine, as you will not be gaming across both monitors (who does that).

Well as I'm getting a G-Sync monitor I really don't think an AMD card would be the best choice.

390X or Fury - AMD do better at higher res. like 1440p usually.

Get a Free-sync one - you'll save 200$ and get the exact same thing

I think you should just overclock your classy and hold up till the next gen x70 comes out. It might impress us again.

Neh. The back lash they got the first time was too big. I doubt they will try to do it again. Especially on a card like that.

That's why I said 4+4 - the card comes with it's own System RAM xD

I read that free sync monitors are kind of trash at sub 40 or so FPS (about what I get in star citizen for example) is that not the case?

That, friend, is fanboy speak from people who can't get over the fact that they payed extra for the same stuff. Linus did a comparison video - both are pretty much the same, some times Free-sync is better, other times G-sync. Both are equal but one is significantly cheaper. Also - Intel are now backing Free-sync for their iGPUs so why would they do that if it were trash?

Trash is the wrong word, it was an exaggeration but I read that it's worse at the lower FPS marks. Though this was when Free Sync first came out so this could have changed.
