Posted October 16, 2015 Author On the flip side I am planning to be getting an intel I7- 6700 cpu to go along with my cpu that is arriving in the mail
Posted October 16, 2015 if you have a 750 and an apu... i'd suggest squeezing in an i5 (4460), fitting motherboard and maybe dropping down to an R9 380 or GTX960. (r9 380 is the faster card, GTX960 will be the fiting nvidia choice if you have brand preference)
 Posted October 16, 2015 Your CPU will bottleneck your GPU by a good deal. I assume you mean that you'll be getting a 6700k, which will fit the 970 quite well. However if it's only for gaming, you'll be fine with pretty much any core i5.

Posted October 16, 2015 do you guys really think the intel i5 6500 would be an better bet to got for?? just for gameing? I'd actually suggest a 6600k, since I've heard OCing is quite easy with Skylake. Also, I can't find any meaningful comparisons between the 6500 and 6700k, but I don't think there'll be a meaningful difference in the vast majority of games. Especially since you'd be saving so much that you could possibly think about a GPU upgrade. Maybe.
 Posted October 16, 2015 An i7 is overkill for gaming, thats why it is recommended to go for an i5. An i7 is used for rendering and video editing. Your current cpu, the AMD A8-6500 will bottleneck the Gtx
