VRM, PCH & MOBO temps?

Core i7-5820k
ASUS X99-A

Noctua NH-D15 w/ dual fans

EVGA Geforce GTX 970

Corsair RM750

Fractal Design Define R5

Two front intake fans, 1 Rear Exhaust (Fractal Design GP-14)

All fans generally running low RPM

CPU temps are beautiful almost all the time. Motherboard temps, not so much. Curious whether the giant cooler is actually pulling airflow AWAY from the motherboard? On average, my temps may look something like this:

CPU: 28-30C

VRM: 45-55C
PCH: 33-43C
Motherboard: 25-33C

Of course this depends on ambient room temps. Right now everything is pretty low because my ambient room temp is somewhere around 68-69F (20.5C). Still, curious what *normal* mobo temps look like and if mine are running too high.

You GPU VRM runn probably at ~90°C. Why are you worried when the CPU VRM is at 50°C?

EDIT: My CPU VRM goes allmost to 90°C and I never had trouble.

-SNIP-

Those are excellent temps on my Z97 system when on high load can hit 70C at times,

@Tac127 a good monitor software for all of this is HWmonitor which shows every sensor available in the system.

Again, didn't know what safe motherboard temps are. So, yes, I asked.

Oh. Well. I'll take that as a good thing that it's not hitting 70C then. :P

It's the same technology as on the the GPU so they have the same save operating temperature:

MOSFETs: ~100°C

Capasitors: ~80-100°C

With 50°C you are perfectly fine.

Mobo sensors can be bit wonky sometimes but yours seem fine. Actually having air cooler there is better for passive cooling than using AIO. Those components are using passive heatsinks that are closed style for looks in current mobos. I don't know how much better using fins would be. But overall doesn't matter as they can take close to 100C temps without issues. You shouldn't see temps over 80C anyway.
