If you could afford only one....which one would you choose and why??

Current specs

i7 3770k

GTX 770 4GIG (Upgrading to 980TI / Titan X. Still undecided because of versus Vram)

8 GIG DDR3 RAM

G-Sync because you have an Nvidia GPU and why not take advantage of it and 4k sucks imo.

1440p is still the sweet spot these days..

It really depends for what you will use your monitor.

But for gaming 1440 !

IMO a 4K monitor. I've got uses for 4k and not G-Sync.

Well, im just gonna do gaming, and not make a theater system. Some games have issues maintaining a 60FPS at 4K UNLESS you have a beast system correct?? But anyway, is 4K really worth it keeping in mind how you would struggle to get a 60FPS solid vs a normal G Sync monitor?

I think I'd choose 4K, as I'm running an AMD card (and if NVIDIA doesn't sort out it's pricing will continue to do so for the foreseeable future)

The 980TI hav 6GB VRAM vs 12GB over at the Titan X?? Thats double the VRAM.....what if i hit the VRAM wall?? I mean i still play games like skyrim with something like 120+ crazy graphical mods and i already hit my card 4GB vram wall.......so how much Vram is needed these days keeping in mind that i am that type of person that downloads mods and graphical mods to make the game look better

No g sync is veriable refresh rate on ur monitor so the screen never tears

144hz makes game play super smooth

And both in combination makes ur monitor look like ur looking through a window into another world

This is the G Sync monitor i had in mind.....

Thoughts??? Yay or Nay??

Unlucky for me i live in South Africa, and its much more cheaper for me to order over seas than in my own country......the problem is not ALL suppliers deliver to South Africa. So my purchase is limited to a way i cannot buy anything i see on online stores UNLESS they deliver to South Africa. So thats the only G Sync i could find.......unless you guys can point me out to a diff G Sync monitor

Yes, but i mean if your game hits 144+ FPS you are strictly speaking gaming at 144Hz.......meaning your refresh rate is variable and equal to your FPS, meaning your FPS is actually your refresh rate??

Really not too important... even if you are gaming at 1080p or even 1440p with a ton of graphical mods you are unlikely to ever truly require the Titan Xs 12GB of VRAM. The 980 Ti's 6GB VRAM should be sufficient, even if it does mean turning down a few settings for the most demanding areas of the map.

I understand, in which case I don't know. The 980 Ti would probably still be sufficient, you just might dip below 60fps at times. I don't play Skyrim, so I don't really know how demanding this can get, but I can't imagine it could possible use all 6GB of VRAM, surely?

Well, acceptable frames for me is 50-60FPS (Dont mind going more if i have a screen higher than 60Hz). Games like Witcher 3, Shadow of Mordor ect ect ect i play on base games, no added mods.

Games like Bethesda Fallout 3, New Vegas and Skyrim i run with mods and graphical mods with upgraded textures. With my current setup i get about 35FPS lowest at certain points and 55FPS at certain points. Because 35FPS is not acceptable by me, i was forced to download a lower graphical version of certain mods just to get about 48-50FPS at minimum no matter where i am on a map.

Now here is the thing, im not sure if it is because my current GPU does not have the sufficient power to produce graphics like that....OR....did i hit my GPU 4GB Vram wall??

That being said, how much Vram is needed these days if you game on a 1080p screen even with the current games releasing?? Will the 980TI suffice for current games on max graphics everywhere??

The card might just be getting a little weak for modern AAA titles, but it's VRAM should be OK. I believe that Witcher 3s recommended card for 1080p60Hz Ultra is a 970, so your GPU may just be getting a little long in the tooth :)

Lol, its not witcher 3 i am having trouble with. I run witcher 3 fine with everything on HIGH to ULTRA with my GTX 770 4GB.

My GTX 770 4GB is having trouble with this part......

In other words, heavily graphical modded games

Gotcha, sorry :)

In which case, you may need to either curb your graphical mod habits (I'm a sucker for eye candy too, lol) or upgrade the GPU. The 4GB VRAM should be ok, the card could just be getting slightly inadequate for that :)

I know this wont help much at all, but this is what my Skyrim looks like ATM. Now those who play Skyrim would see the diffs in those pics compared to standard Skyrim.

So im not sure if its procesing power my GPU lacks, or VRAM.

As my pics currently look like, i am using downgraded versions of my mods...when i use the versions that makes it look better than that, i start getting my FPS drop. So i would assume its GPU processing power??
