hyper threading, how does it work? (help)

I think the title pretty much says it all, I looked for some past forums but none convinced me or clearly told me what is hyper threading, could someone explain me what exactly is and how does it actually work, not looking for a simple explanation, I am actually better understanding the fanzy words than those apples-oranges examples. knowing how it actually works is the thing I need to know the most I mean technically... uuhm hope this is the correspondant topic in this sub-forum

What made you think that the news forum was where you asked for help?

well , go to bios and enable hyper threading , if you mean how to use hyper threading , otherwhise just a tip hyperthreading opens 2 or more logical processor when your cpu has only 2 physical

In a nutshell, each core on the CPU emulates two separate logical cores, or threads, to queue up small tasks in the core's respective work load to minimize downtime between cycles.  The analogy Linus used in the mentioned video of "Hyper-threading As Fast as Possible" is a nice way to think of it.  The CPU can take a full load on each thread, so that's why operating systems will go "8 cores?  No way!"

That's the only resource most of us can think of at the moment.  You'll have to do your own research then if you want something more in-depth.

I think the title pretty much says it all, I looked for some past forums but none convinced me or clearly told me what is hyper threading, could someone explain me what exactly is and how does it actually work, not looking for a simple explanation, I am actually better understanding the fanzy words than those apples-oranges examples. knowing how it actually works is the thing I need to know the most I mean technically... uuhm hope this is the correspondant topic in this sub-forum

 

Hyperthreading increases efficiency. The main benefit is that since CPUs have multiple execution units, such as integer, floating point, etc., Hyperthreading allows additional threads to be scheduled to each core and the core can process two instructions during the same clock cycle if they are different types of instructions, utilizing both execution unit simultaneously. Also if one thread is stalled for various reasons (such as waiting on data to be retrieved from memory) then the other one can continue, rather than stalling the whole core for several cycles.
