Fallout 4 ready?

Go to solution Solved by Atmos,

you're more than fine.

Hey guys im not super savvy on parts and performance so i was hoping someone could help out. From what i could gather im just slightly below reccomended. If anyone can confirm or deny this thatd be great. Also id like to play this game looking as good as possible  so if anyone has some reasonable upgrades (ie get a second graphics card) or something thatd be appreciated.

Asus Strix Geforce GTX 970

i5-4690k (i never overclocked it)

16gb ram

If you need any other info let me know, thanks!

Anywhere in particular one goes to sell used gpus? i was always under the assumption that parts lose thier value so quickly there wasnt even a market for them. Also how much better would the  980ti be?

there are different places to sell used hardware, like ebay, craigslist and the Classifieds part of this forum (it can be found here). as to how much better a 980 ti would be, just bing some benchmarks.

If you are just wanting to play at 1080p you will be good. I would overclock your 4690k though. Not because the game needs it, just because you can easily get more power out of it. On a 30 buck air cooler you should be able to hit 4.3-4.5 giggle hurts.

From what Bethesda has said, this isn't going to be some massive visual undertaking.

A 4790k is not required, it's recommended. There is still not a game on the market a 4690k is losing ground to a 4790k. Heck, most benchmarks show 5820s and 5960x neck and neck with the wonder haswell i5 for gaming. Single core is still king and the 4690k is a monster.

You will however want more threads for streaming and whatnot.

If I wanted to play the game on minimum settings I would have kept my PS4.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

Minimum settings with your system would give you unruly fps.

If a 4690k and 970 give you ps4 graphics you are doing it wrong.

My GPU should be fine, with my overclock I almost match a 290x. Hell I score in the 2600s In Valley depending on my driver with everything maxed, including antialiasing x8. But when the recommend CPU is a full hundred bucks more than my little smallblock, well I got a little pissed. Witcher has less of a recommend specs.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

As another poster on the Web said, the minimum is an Xbox One.

Yes, but as I said my goal was NOT to play at the minimum. My goal was to at least try to run it on high settings. OK, I was hoping to run it on high. So to not be able to because of my CPU, pisses me off.

If anyone asks you never saw me.
