Looking to buy a new graphics card. Looking for suggestions.

Ethre

So my birthday is coming up and I am thinking of upgrading my Gtx 550 Ti to something newer.

Current setup:

GTX 550 Ti

I3-530

8GB RAM

Cooler Master B500 500W PSU

I am looking to buy a GPU for 120-150€. Not looking for something top of the line, just looking for an upgrade. Thanks :)

gtx 950, its a but over budget but great for the price and you'l be up to date with all the nvidia things and saying you have a gtx950 sounds better than a 750ti, or a 750ti.

for that pricerange you can't go wrong with the 950. a bit more expensive then the 750Ti, tough substantially more powerfull! it is a bit over your budget tough, but definitely worth saving up a bit for.

I can't recommend the 750ti enough, though if you can put any more money than the price of a 750ti you can do better. Like the 950 people are telling you about

Join the Appleitionist cause! See spoiler below for answers to common questions that shouldn't be common!

Spoiler

Q: Do I have a virus?!
A: If you didn't click a sketchy email, haven't left your computer physically open to attack, haven't downloaded anything sketchy/free, know that your software hasn't been exploited in a new hack, then the answer is: probably not.

Q: What email/VPN should I use?
A: Proton mail and VPN are the best for email and VPNs respectively. (They're free in a good way)

Q: How can I stay anonymous on the (deep/dark) webzz???....

A: By learning how to de-anonymize everyone else; if you can do that, then you know what to do for yourself.

Q: What Linux distro is best for x y z?

A: Lubuntu for things with little processing power, Ubuntu for normal PCs, and if you need to do anything else then it's best if you do the research yourself.

Q: Why is my Linux giving me x y z error?

A: Have you not googled it? Are you sure StackOverflow doesn't have an answer? Does the error tell you what's wrong? If the answer is no to all of those, message me.

GTX 950 if it's in your budget. If not, R9 270, 270x or 370.

How faster 960 are than the 950?

quite a bit faster, but if you are going to buy the 960, buy the r9 380 instead

The 960 is a lot faster than the 950. Think of it like the 750 TI VS the 760 or the 960 in this case.

How faster 960 are than the 950?

depends on the model ofcourse, tough since the 960 comes in 4Gb variants opposed to the 950's 2Gb, it's better suited for higher resolutions. (you won't be playing on 60 Hz 4K with either of these cards tough)

as for the chip itself, it's a good bit faster then the 950's, tough if you are willing to pay this much you're better of stepping to team red and getting a R9 380.

Also, yeah, what these guys said. A 950 is good, an R9 270 is better (in some cases.) You might also be better off just saving up for a 380.

I used to be quite active here.

I heavily considered the R9 270 but it wasn't available anywhere.

Maybe try the 370, it's newer and should be in stock if you're buying new. Only thing is.. More expensive.

960 is bad at that price point, unless it's really cheaper than the R9 380.

The 960 is only ~10-15% faster than the 950.

I've had my processor since 2012, and it runs BF4 on Ultra settings w/o even getting over 70% usage. I can watch a YouTube video @1080p while playing if I wanted, since I have that extra core.

Also, it's $170 USD. :P

I didn't buy it myself, it was a Christmas present +the motherboard.
