Would running two MSI GeForce 4GB 256-Bit GDDR5 on this system build be advisable? The motherboard is SLI compatible, I have the power and it could fit in the case.

What could be the benefits of running two vs one? I'd like to use two so that it doesn't stress one out and they support great graphics. I plan on hooking up this system to not only a monitor (4K) but also a 55 inch TV (4K).

If you're running 4K two 970s will be a lot smoother than one, but it would probably be better to buy one 980ti instead for the extra memory.

Pro Tip: don't use flash when taking pictures of your build; use a longer exposure instead. Prop up your camera with something (preferably a tripod) if necessary.

if you use retarded/autistic/etc to mean stupid please gtfo

Not all games support SLI, so there's that. You'll definitely need both for running at 4K with decent settings.

check the price of a 980 ti. The performance of 2 970s, and a 980ti will be fairly similar, but you are guaranteed all of that performance on the 980 ti.

I had 2 760s and sli scaling was very good in most games, but it was just less elegant than the 780ti that I have right now.

You also get more vram with the 980 ti.

If you are set on the 970, it should work fine with your system. Most motherboards these days with multiple 8x/16x pci-e slots are sli certified...

It's called a 980ti is a better choice.

According to the most recent jayztwocents kingpin review sli 970 oc'd compared to a 980ti oc'd the preformance of both at every resolution is fairly on par (with the sli 970 being a bit better at 1080p) (once memeory is overclocked a lot of vram limitations go away as seen in the extreme case of the fiji gpu lineup)

The biggest issues are then dealing with sli, but if you have one 970 already I would definitely recommend a second instead of going through the hassle of selling and buying a 980ti at the moment.

Also people never mention it but cpu bottlenecks show up more and more with sli builds over single gpu and I personally would never recommend doing sli with less than a I7 or a significantly overclocked I5.
