Sorry if this is the wrong place to post.

 

But I tried to log in and my password didnt work, went to reset it and I was told my account could not be found?
So I signed up again with the same details and it let me have the username?

Then when I got the email to verify my account it took me to a Steam page? wary of this I clsoe the page without logging in, came back here and my new login worked?

 

Seems very strange to me, especially the verify link taking me to a Steam page asking me to login to Linus Tech Tips via Steam??

No, it is saying that you can log onto the forums with your steam account.

Valve supports Steam logins to websites for a "profile". Lots of sites do it, you can read a bit more about it here: https://steamcommunity.com/dev

No I didn't trust it, never seen that before.

LTT supports SSO which allows people to sign in with Steam accounts, Facebook accounts, etc.

I would never use my Steam PW on anything but steam.
