My Current Power Supply

Shinrin_Cole
Go to solution Solved by The Cool n00B,

So I bought this power a year ago due to a computer problem that actually led to be over heating, (Not a PSU issue)

I heard the G2 and GS were good power suppies, but what I got was this one

which happens to be a G1.

Was this a good buy or is this a bad power supply? So far i have had no problems with it and if it did go out I do have the old power supply to get me going til i could replace it.

I have that exact PSU. I've had it for a year, I ran an overclock for a while. It's good, but the G2/GS is better for overclocking for some reason. You'll be fine.

Yeah I'm not really into over clocking. But good to know it's not a very bad power supply.

It has nothing to do with overclocking. G1 is slightly older and has slightly worse quality parts inside it. But it's still a fine psu and it doesn't matter if you overclock or not.

It's not terrible but if you're still in the return period I would do it, assuming it's one of the lower wattage versions. The 1000W happens to be based off of one of FSPs best designs so don't fret that too much of that's the one you have. However both the GS and G2 are money better spent due to the fact that they don't suffer from crazy Vreg.
