Hi. i've been wonderin is it good idea to buy cpu from china because it is literally 100-200 euros cheaper from where i can buy.

im thinking to buy i7 something. not sure what cpu right now is good but i think my current cpu will start to bottleneck and hold back my gpu's when i get my second 980 ti.

my current specs:

gtx 980 ti reference with evga hybrid kit upgrade

i7-2600k 3.4Ghz

8gb ripjaw 1600

1tb hdd and 300gb backup hdd

random MSI motherboard

and a cancer psu lc6600gp2 v2.3 (which i will be upgrading with 850w evga b2 within a week)

will be travelling to china in 2 months and will be staying there for about 1 month.

within that time i could buy from amazon.cn maybe? not sure if its good idea or what.

what do you guys think?

i might buy new mother board from there so it can support SLI

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- EDIT

i also might have made a huge mistake buying the cards from here... if i just waited 2 months icoulda gotten 980 ti for 550 euros which i payed 670 for it.

and the evga hybrid + evga b2 850w for around 200 euros which i payed for 300...

i could have gotten them alot cheaper if i just waited 2 months T_T fk my life

any SLI motherboards you guys recommend? and shall i buy a backplate for my 980 ti?

RMAs would be a problem unless there's worldwide warranty. I think most companies have worldwide warranty now.

I think MSI is very popular over there since MSI is based in Taiwan so you can get a new mobo rather cheap too.

It's possible you don't need to spend that much at all, Have you not overclocked that CPU yet?

They are KNOWN,........... GREATLY for their prowess to Overclock!

Calling 4.6Ghz easy done!

Throw on a Hyper 212 and 4.5Ghz is easy.

Throw on a beast Air cooler, or Half decent Watercooling unit on there, and watch it go towards 4.8-5.0Ghz (surpassing that if lucky)

If your around 4.5-4.8Ghz you'll match any MODERN CPU in gaming (esp when most AAA titles are GPU bound)

Matching/Beating a (Current/Modern) locked (stock) i5/i7 is still possible with an overclock.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

Buy it from jd.com or taobao.com. Two of the biggest and most reliable shopping sites in China.

For example, http://world.tmall.com/item/521125706310.htm?spm=a312a.7700714.0.0.dCwAVZ&skuId=3105285908896

You will need to maybe get a friend to translate for you if you can't read mandarin chinese but whenever I've had to travel to China for business meetings and trips i always bought from those two places.

It's like amazon and ebay combined.

That said.... Get a New PSU + OC current CPU, it REALLY is not slow by todays standards (highly sought after actually), and capable of seeing the same performance of your NEW'er planned setup.

ie: NOT Wasting Money, spending decent moneys for a new platform, to gain a small fraction of performance your current CPU is capable of with ease and a new cooler would take it past expectations, but saving hundreds of dollars/currency.

IMO - Better CPU cooler to get it past 4.5Ghz and onto the 4.8Ghz+ range + SSD for OS :)
